Scott K. Taylor
Contemporary oil painter with special interest in still life scenes depicting organic elements woven into ceramic pieces, as well as antique and whimsical Buddhas
After a long career in the medical device industry, I’ve retired from the corporate setting to focus on oil painting.
My formal training began in 2017 at the Ridgewood Art Institute and several early pieces were quickly accepted into Northern NJ Juried Shows. Training and production work intensified and have since moved to the Diana K. Gibson Fine Art Studio in Midland Park, NJ, where I also maintain some studio space.
I enjoy incorporating some fun juxtaposition, both in content and in style. My most recent collections includes buddhas on floating cubes, gummie buddhas, and even some nuns climbing rocks. You’ll see some painterly brushwork, tight” brushwork, and pieces completed entirely with painting knives.
My right brain leverages my left brain dominance in creating a piece.
